In January, a dedicated group of MBA students from Cal State Fullerton's College of Business and Economics made a significant impact on aspiring entrepreneurs in Panama. Under the guidance of Eric Setten, an assistant professor of marketing, the students were organized into two teams, each partnering with a micro-enterprise owner to foster business growth and development.
The first team collaborated closely with a local artisan, focusing on enhancing product visibility and marketing strategies. They provided insights on effective social media usage and branding techniques that could elevate the artisan's profile in both local and international markets. Meanwhile, the second team worked with a small food business, helping to streamline operations and improve customer engagement.
The students' hands-on approach not only equipped the entrepreneurs with valuable business skills but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration. This initiative exemplifies the power of education in driving economic development and supporting small businesses in emerging markets.
